Course Description :

Diploma in ophthalmic technology also known as DOT is a 3 year course if complete 10th std and 2 year course if completed 12th std which is designed to produce trained and qualified professionals who assist ophthalmologists in order to diagnose and treat patients. After the completion of the DOT course, students will have a solid foundation in eye care fundamentals and can work as will be able to perform various ophthalmic procedures efficiently.


You must be wondering what Ophthalmic Technology course is all about. Ophthalmology is a discipline that focuses on eye care. Topics such as eye examination, vision defects, ocular diseases, corrective surgery, optics etc are covered in this discipline. Eligibility:


Candidates for this 3 year program leading to the DOT should have passed SSLC and the 2-year pre university examination (10+2) with English as one of the subject along with physics, chemistry, biology / maths as subject.


They should have passed any other examination recognized as equivalent to 2-year Pre University selected on merit in their performance entrance test interview held by the college. Students undergo a period of certified study over 3 academic year from the date of commencement of classes for subjects according to the prescribed curriculum till completion of the examination following by 1 year compulsory internship. English shall be the medium of instruction for all subject examinations.
